JULY 2024
- Our new GP Partner, Dr Alix Dreyer (f), joined Meeks Road Surgery in May 2024. We are delighted to welcome Dr Dreyer to our team and we hope you join in making her feel welcome!
- Dr John Scales retired in May 2024. Dr. Scales has been a shining example of compassion, expertise and kindness, earning the respect and admiration of everyone who has had the privilege of knowing him. All your colleagues will miss your humour, fantastic stories and endless support. Although Dr. Scales will be missed by patients and his colleagues, it is also an opportunity to celebrate and thank him for everything throughout his time at Meeks Road Surgery.
SEPTEMBER 2024
- The surgery now has a 'Men's health clinic' each Thursday ran by our Advanced Nurse Practitioner, Andy. This is an opportunity for men over the age of 50 (or over 40 if have a family history of prostate cancer) to have a chat in regards to any new concerns with their prostate health.
MAY 2025
Taking on board patient feedback, we have made improvements to our telephone system.
Our new phone system features an option menu—please listen carefully to all options and your call will be diverted accordingly. The new telephone system also includes a callback feature, so you can request a call back instead of waiting on hold, helping you keep your place in the queue.
Starting, Friday 2nd May, all routine appointments will once again be released at 8am one week in advance. This was previously 11am. The phone line will update with a message when routine appointments have all been filled. You will still however be able to speak to a receptionist if required.
We appreciate your patience as our team navigate the new telephone system.
