Change to routine appointments - Monday 1st July 2024
At Meeks Road we are always taking patient feedback on board and assessing how we can make your experience with the surgery easier.
We understand the appointment booking system can be difficult to navigate for a number of reasons. This also has an impact on our administrative team.
Our lines are currently at their busiest at 8am due to on the day emergencies, house call requests and routine appointments. To help alleviate this, going forward we will be releasing routine appointments each day at 11am.
Moving our routine appointments being released to 11am would allow the bulk of our incoming calls to be spread across a morning, making reaching the practice easier.
Our GP’s kindly ask that you contact the surgery before 10am for on the day emergencies and house call requests. Any routine enquiries for example sick line request, prescription queries should be from 10am.
The practice will continue to monitor the appointment booking system and as always, we thank you for your patience and understanding.
Get Well, Keep Well
Of course we’re not just here for when you are unwell. Our team of healthcare professionals and back-up staff offer a number of clinics and services to promote good health and wellbeing whatever your medical condition.

CONFIDENTIALITY
The relationship between patient and the team providing medical care is based on trust.
We have a professional duty to keep information related to you confidential. Nothing can be disclosed to a third person without your consent, regardless of whether or not the requested treatment is given. We will respect confidentiality, regardless of age, as long as the doctor or nurses feels that the patient is capable of understanding and of making an informed choice about the treatment and/or advice.
In Scotland, the law assumes that anyone over the age of 12 years old can make their own decisions about their health care. Anyone under 12 years old may make decisions about their health care but the doctors must believe that the patient understands enough to be able to do this.
To this end, information regarding the health care of anyone over the age of 12 years, including booked appointments, will not be disclosed to anyone other than the patient, except in cases where prior consent from the patient has been granted to disclose information to a third party.
STAFF PROTECTION
A zero tolerance policy towards violent, threatening and abusive behaviour is now in place throughout the National Health Service. Violence in this context includes actual and threatened physical violence or verbal abuse which leads to fear for a persons safety.
The staff in this practice have the right to do their work in an environment free from violent, threatening or abusive behaviour and everything will be done to protect that right. At no time will this type of behaviour be tolerated in this practice.
If you do not respect the rights of our staff we may choose to inform the police and make arrangements for you to be removed from our medical list.
All incoming and outgoing calls are recorded for training and monitoring purposes.
